Competitive Scholarship Program

The Twin Cities Roundtable of the Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals offers a competitive scholarship program for students in Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota and Wisconsin. The purpose of the program is to further the education development of members and students, and to enhance interest in the supply chain profession.

Award: One $2,000 scholarship will be awarded to qualified students. The 1st and 2nd place finalists will be awarded the student volunteer opportunity at the 2008 CSCMP Global Conference in Denver, CO. The awards will be announced at the annual Roundtable seminar in March 2008.

Eligibility: The scholarship is open to students through first semester seniors enrolled in an accredited college or university located in the states of MN, ND, SD and western WI.

Entry Requirements:

  • A minimum GPA of 2.5.
  • Must be a student in good standing at the time of the award.
  • Must have taken or be taking at least one logistics-related course.

Application must include:

  • Current contact information.
  • Transcript, highlighted to demonstrate each of the above.
  • One letter of recommendation from a current faculty member.
  • Maximum two page typed, double space, essay answering the following question: "Why should I be the recipient of the Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals, Twin Cities Roundtable scholarship."

Scholarships will be awarded based on essay quality, letter of recommendation, and academic record. Essays will be judged on the elements of content, creativity, grammar and presentation. Each applicant will be given fair and careful consideration. Recipients will be selected without regard to race, color, sex, religion, or national origin and all applicants will be notified of results.

Local Business Young Professional Scholarship

Annually the local Round Table Board provides a young professional scholarship to a local business who actively supports staff development and the CSCMP Chapter. The company will in turn select the young professional within their business who:

  • Is considered a high potential candidate.
  • Are in a role no higher than manager in their organization.
  • Have been employed in the supply chain industry for less than 5 years.

The scholarship is a Speed Pass granting access to all 2009 - 2010 meetings, tours, and all day seminar hosted by the Twin Cities Round Table! The award will be announced in June of 2009.

Businesses sponsoring the young professional will:

  • Provide young professionals current contact information.
  • Ensure individual is granted time to attend events.
  • Support the regular participation at local events.

Young Professional Self-Nominated Scholarship

Annually the local Round Table Board will select a young professional from an essay competition to attend local CSCMP Twin Cities Roundtable events.

Eligibility: The scholarship is open to individuals who:

  • Are in a role no higher than manager in their organization.
  • Have attended a minimum of two CSCMP events in the last 12 months.
  • Have been employed in the supply chain industry for less than 5 years.

Award: One scholarship for a speed pass to all 2009 -2010 Twin Cites Roundtable events will be awarded to a young professional. The award will be announced in June of 2009.

Application: Applicant should submit the following information:

  • Current contact information.
  • A One letter of recommendation from a supply chain professional.
  • A One-page essay answering the following question:"Why should I be the recipient of the CSCMP, Twin Cities young professional scholarship?"

Local Young Professional Speed Pass Scholarships

The Twin Cities Roundtable of the Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals also offers a local scholarship program for young professionals in the supply chain industry. The purpose of the program is to further the Council's educational goals and develop future supply chain leaders.
